A Huge Thank You to Ringrose Law and Southwell Lions Group for sponsoring our Volunteer Treat day!
We recently held our summer Volunteer Treat day, bringing together our volunteers, staff, and trustees for an afternoon of relaxation, connection, and creative expression. The afternoon featured a painting session, a general catch-up, and buffet lunch for everyone to enjoy together. This event provided an opportunity for our team to unwind, paint together, and connect over shared experiences.
Supporting local families when times are tough requires dedication from our team. Our parent volunteers, staff, and trustees work directly alongside local families navigating complex challenges, including social isolation, mental health struggles, family breakdowns, and safeguarding concerns. Because this work involves significant emotional demands, supporting the wellbeing of our team is a top priority.
These treat days provide essential time away from daily casework. They allow our team to process the emotional demands of their work, celebrate shared achievements, and strengthen the peer support network that keeps our charity resilient. Looking after our experienced team ensures we can maintain continuous, high-quality support for vulnerable families across our local communities.
This event was made possible thanks to the joint funding and community support of Ringrose Law in Newark and the Southwell Lions Group. By investing directly in the wellbeing of our team, Ringrose Law and the Southwell Lions Group are helping us retain experienced volunteers and ensure Home-Start Newark continues delivering support to local parents and children when they need it most. Thank you both for your support.
