Volunteering Home Visit Support
Could you spare 2-3 hours a week to support a local family and make a difference that could last a lifetime?
Our Home Visiting Volunteers all have parenting or significant caring experience themselves. They visit families in the Newark and Ollerton area and offer support around a range of issues such as routines, isolation, mental health and well-being and financial matters.
Home Visiting Volunteers are provided with training prior to being matched with families. The first training modules are completed online then followed up by 3 days of face-to-face training.
Our Course of Preparation covers topics such as mental health, supporting parents, Step Up for School, safeguarding, confidentiality, communication and values and attitudes. The online training gives Volunteers the opportunity to learn the theory behind the topics at their own pace, and the face to face training days bring it to life with scenarios and discussions.
If you are non-judgmental, understand the importance of confidentiality and want to give positive support to local families, please contact us on 01636 705011 for a no-pressure friendly chat.
